Torreon, Coahuila to George West, TX
I got on the road around sunrise and headed toward Monterrey. Started coming back into a mountain range.
After entering the mountains around Monterrey the clouds started to increase and I was riding through off and on light rain.
As I neared Nuevo Laredo the clouds began to disappear. Arriving in Nuevo Laredo it was time to turn in all of the paper work before going north back across the border. No line to turn in the TVIP for the bike so it took only about 5 minutes. Went inside and there was a short line. I turned in the visitor's permit and my passport was stamped showing that I was leaving Mexico. Less than 30 minutes and everything was completed here.
Headed over to the toll booth at the border. No line this time and no delay getting through. Traffic was stopped about half way across the bridge both coming into Mexico and going back to the US. Just enough room at the back between the two lines for me to get the bike through. Crossed over the bridge to the US side on the wrong side of the road. Not in the US yet so I can get by with it. Gotta love Mexico. Got to the front of the line waiting on the US BP and asked the driver of the car if I could cut in line. Common practice here so the driver let me in front of the line.
After a few minutes wait and a short interview by the BP I was back in the US. Start to finish the whole process took less than an hour.
Headed north in Texas on I-35 then turned off onto Hwy 44 over to Hwy 59. Rain clouds were on and off but no real rain.
It was close to getting dark when I arrived in George West, TX so I made it my stop for the day.
